The Archer Recruitment Group in Fareham, Hampshire, is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee pay and bill processes for our external contractors across all entities. You will lead a Payroll Assistant and help migrate to new software while ensuring accurate timesheets, invoicing and payroll data for umbrella providers.

Key duties include managing weekly cycles, multi-currency invoicing, and maintaining strong controls for audits.

Qualifications

• Experience managing contractor timesheets, billing and payroll data.
• Line management experience and ability to develop others.
• Familiar with umbrella payroll and how it interacts with agencies.
• Strong Excel skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Clear communicator able to meet tight weekly deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Manage weekly timesheet cycle using internal system and client VMS, ensuring approvals and rate accuracy before cut-off.
• Raise accurate sales invoices to clients in Xero, manage queries, credit notes and re-bills.
• Distribute weekly and monthly payroll data to umbrella providers and act as main contact.
• Check umbrella invoices against timesheets and perform due diligence on providers.
• Reconcile pay and bill weekly and report contractor numbers, margin and billing to the Financial Controller.
• Maintain strong controls and audit trails; support external audits.
• Line manage and develop the Payroll Assistant, planning workload to deadlines.
• Assist with upcoming software migration by mapping current processes into the new system.
• Resolve escalated queries from contractors, umbrella providers, consultants and clients promptly.
