Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Contractor Coordinator for an on-site Derby role, working with Rolls-Royce. You will support subcontractor management, ensure safety compliance, and deliver high-quality client service at all times.

The position requires direct contractor experience, strong communication, and the ability to mentor teams on site. 40 hours weekly, on-site at Derby, with a focus on safety, planning and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience with contractor management and team leadership.
  • Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management system for managing contractors.
  • Knowledge of building regulations, H&S, contractors, statutory regulations in-country.
  • Experience in project/subcontractor management or team delivery (desirable).
  • Active problem solver with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and service-focused approach.
  • Proficient with Word and Excel; keen interest in technology.
  • Able to adapt to day-to-day project variation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site activities, including functionality, escalation, planning and client satisfaction.
  • Promote health and safety measures and best practices with contractors and vendors.
  • Review risk assessments and follow safety protocols.
  • Manage and review safety documentation to ensure site compliance.
  • Support Building Management Systems, contractor bookings and quality compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with JLL and Rolls-Royce policies and procedures.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and deliver timely service requests.
  • Build relationships with Rolls-Royce stakeholders and vendors for optimal client experience.
  • Communicate risks or events to client and management as needed.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the JLL team on site.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with ad-hoc duties.
  • Supervise and monitor subcontractor day-to-day work.

What this job involves

Working as part of a team, this is an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidate to learn from a supportive management team. The Subcontractor Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the JLL and Rolls-Royce management teams to deliver exceptional client service, contract delivery through subcontractor management, and act as ambassador of the JLL team on site.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day site management activities including site functionality, escalation management, planning and Client satisfaction.
  • Working in accordance with health and safety measures and promoting best practice amongst colleagues, contractors, and vendors at all times.
  • Reviewing and approving risk assessments and following safety protocols.
  • Managing and reviewing health and safety documentation to ensure compliance and safety on site.
  • Support Building Management Systems, creating and managing contractor bookings, Environmental Health and Safety and Quality Compliance, etc. as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with JLL and Client policies, and procedures including statutory compliance and standard operating procedures.
  • Management against Rolls-Royce Control standards is key.
  • Delivery or delegation of service requests to ensure all requests are actioned within the agreed timeframe meeting Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements, as required by JLL or Rolls-Royce.
  • Ensuring contractor safety, housekeeping and cleanliness is delivered to the highest standard, working closely with Rolls-Royce subcontractors, monitoring works and conducting audits.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of subcontractor works, ensuring that risks are identified, and lessons learned are documented and shared.
  • Building relationships with both internal and external customers including the Rolls-Royce stakeholders, partners, and vendors to ensure the best Client experience.
  • Communicating efficiently to keep the Client and management team informed of any elevated risks or events, as necessary.
  • Providing leadership, direction and mentoring the JLL team and vendors on site to promote a positive and engaged team culture with a focus on excellent customer experience delivery.
  • Assisting the Facilities Manager in ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Supervising and monitoring subcontractor’s day to day work.
Required Experience
  • You have direct contractor experience and associated team management skills to deliver services.
  • You have experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management system for managing contractors.
  • You have knowledge of in-country requirements related to building regulations, H&S, contractors, statutory regulations, etc.
  • You have experience in project/ subcontractor Management or team delivery (desired, not essential).
  • You are an active problem solver
  • You can meet tight deadlines and work efficiently and collaboratively as part of a team to solve problems with professionalism and service focused approach.
  • You keep up to date with industry trends and have direct experience or an interest in facilities management and customer service.
  • You are open and have good communication skills.
  • You strive for excellence in what you do and share ideas for improvement.
  • You are proficient with Word and Excel and have a keen interest in technology.
  • You are adaptable to work to requests and projects that may vary from day to day.
