Job summary

CMR Jobs Limited, a Manchester-based accountancy firm, seeks an experienced Contractor Accountant to join the team.

You will manage a portfolio of 50+ Limited Company contractor clients, prepare year-end accounts and corporation tax returns, and support clients with day-to-day accounting and tax queries. The role also covers VAT returns and general bookkeeping, building strong client relationships and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience in a contractor accounting role.
• Experience managing a portfolio of 50+ Limited Company clients.
• AAT Level 4 qualification preferred; Level 3 considered with stronger contractor experience.
• Good knowledge of Limited Company accounts and tax.
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of 50+ Limited Company contractor clients.

We’re working with an established accountancy firm who are looking to add an experienced Contractor Accountant to their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already has experience looking after a portfolio of contractor clients and wants to continue developing within a specialist accounting environment.

The role will involve:

• Managing a portfolio of 50+ Limited Company contractor clients
• Preparing year-end accounts and corporation tax returns
• Supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting and tax queries
• Managing VAT returns and general bookkeeping requirements
• Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact
• Ensuring accounts and tax work is completed accurately and on time

We're looking for someone with:

• At least 12 months' experience in a contractor accounting role
• Experience managing a portfolio of 50+ Limited Company clients
• AAT Level 4 qualified is preferred
• Candidates with AAT Level 3 will also be considered where they have stronger contractor accounting experience
• Good knowledge of Limited Company accounts and tax
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach

Salary: 26,000 - 28,000
