Job summary

GH Resourcing is recruiting for a newly created role with our client, a growing accountancy firm in Kilmarnock. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced non-qualified Accountant, AAT Accountant or Accounts Senior to join their team.

This is a varied role where you will take ownership of your own portfolio of clients and play an important part in supporting their day-to-day accounting requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice.
• Strong understanding of UK accounting and tax regulations.
• Proficient with MS Office & accounting/bookkeeping software (Sage, Sage Payroll, Xero).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in the agricultural sector would be preferred but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Preparing & reviewing accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients (limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders).
• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns, corporation tax, and personal tax returns.
• Assisting with year-end accounts and general accounting requirements.
• Liaising directly with clients and addressing queries with timely, accurate advice.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients on accounting, tax, and financial planning.

Essential Requirements:
