Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a proactive Contract / Sustainability Manager to oversee waste service delivery across Manchester Airport’s environmental objectives, based at the Home Office - Manchester site.

The role focuses on developing a sustainability strategy, improving recycling solutions, and engaging stakeholders from concessions and tenants. You will lead data analysis, coordinate with facilities teams, and manage the site-based waste team to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience in Waste/Environmental sectors.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• People management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the waste service delivery across the contract, being the main point of contact for the Clients.
• Engage and collaborate with the key Manchester Airport Stakeholders in improving waste and recycling performance across the airport.
• Support with waste data analysis, identifying key trends and providing detailed feedback to Manchester Airport.
• Liaise with Mitie Waste Finance team to ensure dept and WIP is minimised.
• Line management responsibility for the site based waste team.
• Work with the Operational delivery teams to ensure the application of waste and recycling compliance and approaches are adhered to.

ROLE: Contract / Sustainability Manager
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 40 hours, 8:00am - 5:00pm
LOCATION: Home Office - Manchester - Manchester Airport

Main Job Objectives:

The role will be responsible for developing a sustainability strategy, which will incorporate key recycling solutions across the airport, creating and driving a culture of improvement and innovation in all aspects of waste management activity, engagement with concessions and tenants, working collaboratively with site-based facilities teams, incorporating energy and water initiatives and delivering on Manchester Airports environmental objectives

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage the waste service delivery across the contract, being the main point of contact for the Clients.
• Engage and collaborate with the key Manchester Airport Stakeholders in improving waste and recycling performance across the airport.
• Support with waste date analysis, identifying key trends and providing detailed feedback to Manchester Airport.
• Liaise with Mitie Waste Finance team to ensure dept and WIP is minimised.
• Line management responsibility for the site based waste team.
• Work with the Operational delivery teams to ensure the application of waste and recycling compliance and approaches are adhered too.

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and organisational skills,
• Experience working within the Waste / Environmental sectors.
• People management experience and skills.
• Confident with MS platforms, excel, word, teams etc.
• Experience dealing with stakeholders.
