Job summary

A leading facilities services provider in the UK is seeking a Sustainability professional. You will lead sustainability services, develop management plans, and engage stakeholders. The ideal candidate has experience in sustainability and a familiarity with ISO standards. This is a full-time role offering remote work with travel involved.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of sustainability services as per contract.
• Develop and drive the Sustainability Management Plan.
• Set annual environmental objectives and targets.
• Engage with stakeholders to maintain relevant sustainability plans.
• Establish governance framework and engage with senior stakeholders to keep plans relevant and updated.
• Embed a digital approach to CSR and sustainability reporting across the portfolio.
• Validate carbon data ready for reporting and seek external certification.
• Work with Operations Performance Sustainability to build the Sustainability Management System including core documents.
• Design reporting and assurance processes around sustainability and support other departments with their objectives.
• Develop site environmental risks and priorities; collate site data and undertake site visits.

Overview

ISS Facility Services UK is seeking a Sustainability professional to deliver on a major public sector contract. The role involves working within a matrix structure to support the programme across engineering, cleaning and sustainability to ensure the client’s estate is well looked after.

You will work with key customer contacts, contractors and the broader Account team to deliver the Sustainability requirements of the contract.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the sustainability services in line with the contract specification
• Lead, develop and drive the Sustainability Management Plan agreed with the customer, monitor progress, promote achievements, and ensure all required reporting is delivered
• Grow and engage with the employee champions network
• Set annual environmental objectives and targets
• Establish governance framework and engage with senior stakeholders across the customer to ensure sustainability plans remain relevant and updated
• Embed a digital approach to CSR and sustainability reporting across the portfolio
• Validate carbon data ready for reporting and publication and monitor performance; seek suitable external certification
• Work with the Operations Performance Sustainability team to build the Sustainability Management System including core documents (Sustainability Improvement Plan, carbon reduction plan, biodiversity net gain)
• Design reporting and assurance processes around sustainability, including supporting other departments with their objectives
• Work with the wider Operations Performance team to develop site environmental risks and priorities; collate site data and undertake site visits as required

Qualifications and experience

• Clear sustainability experience within delivery and knowledge of ISO standards
• Experience working in a complex matrix team structure (preferred)
• Ability to travel
