Senior Systems Test Engineer
Location: Greenford, London
Contract: 6 Months
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2-3 Days On Site
Rate: £60.00 - £75.00 per hour Umbrella (Flexible)
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required
The Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Test Engineer to support an advanced defence project, working within a multidisciplinary engineering team and focusing on systems integration, verification and testing across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Systems Test Engineer with a strong background in requirements, system verification, integration and test to work on complex, safety- and mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute system-level test and verification activities across the engineering lifecycle.
- Develop test strategies, test specifications, procedures and supporting documentation.
- Analyse system requirements and ensure they are fully verifiable and traceable through to test.
- Support system integration, verification and validation activities.
- Plan, coordinate and lead system testing, including investigation and resolution of test failures.
- Produce clear and accurate test reports, evidence and technical documentation.
- Support design reviews, technical meetings and customer-facing activities.
- Lead testing work packages and ensure delivery to agreed timescales, cost and quality requirements.
- Identify and manage technical risks, issues and dependencies associated with testing and integration.
- Work closely with systems, software, hardware and other engineering disciplines to support successful system delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to other engineers where required.
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in Systems Engineering and Systems Test.
- Proven experience in system verification, validation, integration and testing.
- Strong understanding of requirements management and requirements traceability.
- Experience developing test specifications, procedures, reports and other technical documentation.
- Experience investigating test failures and supporting root-cause analysis.
- Ability to work across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working on complex engineering or mission-critical systems.
- Previous defence, maritime, sonar or aerospace experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with systems engineering, requirements or test management tools is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electronics, Physics or a related discipline.
- Due to the nature of the role, candidates must hold active SC security clearance.
