Rate: £60.00 – £75.00 per hour Umbrella (Flexible)

We are currently seeking a Test Systems Engineer to support an advanced defence project, working within a multidisciplinary engineering team with a strong focus on system testing, verification, validation and acceptance.
The successful candidate will support the development and delivery of test and acceptance activities, ensuring complex systems meet defined requirements, acceptance criteria and customer expectations throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Test Systems Engineer with a strong background in system-level testing, requirements verification, integration and acceptance to work on complex, mission-critical defence systems.
Develop and deliver system test and acceptance activities across the engineering lifecycle.
Develop test strategies, test specifications, procedures and acceptance criteria.
Review system requirements to ensure they are clear, testable and traceable through to acceptance.
Plan and coordinate system-level verification, validation and acceptance testing.
Support system integration and identify and resolve issues arising during testing.
Produce test evidence, reports and documentation demonstrating compliance with requirements.
Support customer acceptance activities, technical reviews and demonstrations.
Investigate test failures, identify root causes and support corrective actions.
Ensure test and acceptance activities are delivered to agreed timescales, cost and quality requirements.
Identify and manage technical risks, issues and dependencies associated with test and acceptance.
Work closely with systems, software, hardware and other engineering teams to ensure successful system delivery.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on test, verification and acceptance activities.
Strong background in Systems Testing, Verification, Validation and Acceptance.
Proven experience delivering system-level test and acceptance activities.
Strong understanding of requirements management, verification and requirements traceability.
Experience developing test specifications, procedures, acceptance criteria and test reports.
Experience producing and reviewing test evidence against system requirements.
Experience investigating test failures and supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Experience supporting customer acceptance, demonstrations or formal test activities.
Strong technical documentation, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
Experience working on complex, safety-critical or mission-critical systems.
Previous defence, maritime, sonar or aerospace experience is highly desirable.
Familiarity with systems engineering, requirements or test management tools is advantageous.
Degree qualified in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electronics, Physics or a related discipline.
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must hold active SC security clearance.
