Job summary

Synergize Consulting invites experienced Senior Test Engineers to join a high-profile Aerospace & Defence project in Basildon. The role covers hands-on laboratory testing, test system development, diagnostics and verification across electronic, mechanical, optical and software subsystems.

You will work with hardware, software, optical and systems engineers, using LabVIEW and MATLAB, with a requirement for SC clearance or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Senior Test Engineers to support development and testing of complex electro-optical and electronic products and test equipment.
• Hands-on laboratory testing, instrument development, diagnostics and verification across multiple disciplines.
• Experience with electrical, electro-optical, acoustic and lab-based testing is essential.

We are seeking Senior Test Engineers to support the development and testing of advanced electro-optical and electronic products and test equipment within a major Aerospace & Defence engineering environment in Basildon.

The role will involve hands-on laboratory testing, test system development, instrumentation, diagnostics and verification across products incorporating electronic, mechanical, optical and software components.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test strategies, procedures and test solutions.
• Support the design, integration and commissioning of test systems.
• Perform hands-on laboratory testing, measurement and diagnostics.
• Work with electrical and electro-optical test instrumentation and analyse test data.
• Support integration, verification and validation activities.
• Interpret product-level test requirements and contribute to structured engineering processes.
• Produce and review technical documentation, test procedures and user instructions.
• Work collaboratively with hardware, software, optical and systems engineers.
• HND or higher in Systems, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in one or more of:
• Electrical testing
• Electro-optics
• Acoustic testing
• Hands-on lab-based testing, diagnostics and measurement.
• Good understanding of test instrumentation and data analysis.
• Experience working within structured engineering lifecycles/processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• SC clearance or ability to obtain SC clearance.
• LabVIEW, MATLAB or similar test software

• Understanding of environmental effects on hardware performance
