Job summary

Omega is seeking a Contract Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to support a highly automated distribution facility in Burnley. You will perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance on conveyors and sortation equipment, diagnose PLC faults, and work with operations to ensure safe, efficient running of the site.

The role involves planned and reactive maintenance, continuous improvement activities, and thorough maintenance documentation.

Qualifications

Time-served maintenance engineer with electrical or mechanical bias preferred.
Experience in automated distribution, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or material handling environments.
PLC fault-finding experience and ability to fault-find electrical/mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on automated distribution equipment.
Fault find and repair conveyors, motors, sortation systems and associated automated handling equipment.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maintain operational performance.
PLC fault-finding and troubleshooting to identify and rectify equipment issues.
Support continuous improvement projects and equipment reliability initiatives.
Work closely with operations teams to ensure safe and efficient running of the facility.
Complete maintenance documentation and ensure compliance with site health & safety procedures.
