Job summary

Omega is recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated distribution operation in the Burnley area. You will maintain conveyors, sortation and automated handling equipment to maximise uptime and throughput.

Working days-based, the role offers a stable permanent position with ongoing training, progression opportunities, and a company pension. You will collaborate with operations and engineering teams to drive reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Time-served and/or formally qualified engineer.
• Electrical or Mechanical bias.
• Experience within automated distribution, logistics, warehousing or material handling environments.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with conveyors, motors, sorters and automated handling equipment.
• PLC fault-finding experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on automated distribution equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across conveyors, sortation systems, motors and associated equipment.
• Undertake PLC fault finding to identify and resolve operational issues.
• Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner to maximise site uptime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and performance.
• Work collaboratively with operations and engineering teams to drive operational excellence.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health, safety and quality standards.
• Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation.
