Job summary

Omega Resource Group is recruiting a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer for a highly automated distribution operation in Burnley. The role focuses on maintaining equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting site performance in a modern facility.

You will carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on conveyors and automated handling equipment, with PLC fault-finding and strong fault analysis across electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Time-served or formally qualified engineer with electrical or mechanical bias.
• Experience in automated distribution, logistics, warehousing or manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with conveyors, motors, sorters and automated handling equipment.
• PLC fault-finding experience.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on automated distribution equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across conveyors, sortation systems, motors and associated equipment.
• Undertake PLC fault finding to identify and resolve operational issues.
• Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner to maximise site uptime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and performance.
• Work collaboratively with operations and engineering teams to drive operational excellence.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health, safety and quality standards.
• Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation.

We are recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated distribution operation in the Burnley area. This modern facility utilises advanced automated material handling systems to ensure efficient, high-volume throughput. The successful engineer will play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting the continued performance of the site.

Responsibilities - Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on automated distribution equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across conveyors, sortation systems, motors and associated equipment.

• Experience working with conveyors, motors, sorters and automated handling equipment.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
