Job summary

Reed in the United Kingdom is seeking a Contract Manager to lead a multi-site Soft FM contract across Brighton, Crawley, Chichester, Horsham and surrounding areas. You will ensure safe, compliant service delivery for cleaning, grounds maintenance and bulk waste while managing budgets, teams and client relationships.

Qualifications

Proven experience managing Soft FM services (cleaning, grounds, waste).

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day delivery of cleaning, grounds maintenance and bulk waste across sites.
Ensure KPIs and service standards are met consistently.
Lead, develop and support frontline teams.
Recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
Conduct site audits, inspections and risk assessments.
Monitor health & safety and environmental compliance.
Oversee budget and contract expenditure, support P&L.

About the Company

Our client is a leading UK provider of housing and neighbourhood services, delivering high-quality facilities management solutions across residential, education, public sector and community environments.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead the operational delivery of a large-scale Soft Facilities Management contract across Brighton, Crawley, Chichester, Horsham and surrounding areas. An electric company vehicle will be provided.

As Contract Manager, you will take ownership of a multi-site Soft FM contract delivering cleaning, grounds maintenance and bulk waste collection services. You will be responsible for ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual KPIs, whilst managing budgets, people, performance and client relationships.

This is a highly visible operational leadership role requiring strong commercial awareness, excellent people management skills and a passion for service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day delivery of cleaning, grounds maintenance and bulk waste collection services across multiple sites.
Ensure contractual KPIs, service standards and client expectations are consistently achieved.
Lead, develop and support frontline operational teams.
Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing performance management.
Conduct regular audits, inspections and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and environmental legislation.
Monitor contract expenditure and support full budget and P&L management.
Manage subcontractors, ensuring quality and compliance standards are maintained.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

Proven experience managing Soft FM services, particularly:
- Cleaning
- Grounds Maintenance
- Waste Management Services
Experience managing multi-site facilities management contracts valued at £1 million+.
Strong people management experience, including leading frontline and remote teams.
A successful track record of improving performance, addressing underperformance and driving service excellence.
Experience managing budgets with exposure to full profit and loss accountability.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent operational, analytical and reporting capabilities.
Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience carrying out site audits, inspections and risk assessments.
A full UK driving licence.
IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) would be advantageous.
