Job summary

Portakabin Ltd seeks a Contract Manager to deliver large or complex contracts nationwide. The role is permanent with a company car and private medical cover, plus 25 days leave and an opportunity to buy more days. Travel overnight stays are required to support business needs.

Salary up to £67,000 plus an annual bonus up to 10%. Ideal candidate holds a degree, project management qualification, and proven experience in construction/modular project delivery with strong cost control and risk

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering large and complex construction or modular projects.
• Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies and processes.
• Strong financial control, cost management, and final accounts negotiation.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers and contractors.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills for project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership for successful project management and delivery of allocated contracts, on time, to budget, and to customer satisfaction.
• Act as SME in project delivery and share knowledge across the function.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to meet delivery objectives with clear roles and deliverables.
• Maintain or improve margins and cash flow through planning, budgeting, risk control and commercial decisions.
• Produce regular reports for stakeholders with progress against programme, costs and milestones.
• Identify, manage and mitigate project risks with an up-to-date risk register.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, manage variations and resolve disputes.
• Build strong customer relationships as main contact for contracts.
• Support bid and pre-construction activity with operational input.
• Provide coaching and line management for contract team where applicable.
