Job summary

Portakabin Ltd is seeking a Contract Manager to lead the delivery of large and complex contracts on a nationwide basis, with regular travel and overnight stays as required. The role is permanent with an annual salary up to £67,000 and a target bonus up to 10%, plus a company car and private medical cover.

Key responsibilities include ownership of project delivery, leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, managing margins and cash flow, risk management, and ensuring contractual compliance.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering large, complex construction or modular projects.
• Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership for successful project management and delivery of allocated large or complex contracts, ensuring safety, on time delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Act as SME in project delivery and share knowledge with colleagues to support best practice.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve contract delivery objectives and clarify roles.
• Maintain or improve project margins and cash flow through planning, budgeting, risk control and commercial decisions.
• Produce regular reports for stakeholders on progress, costs and milestones.
• Identify, manage and mitigate project risks with an up‑to‑date risk register.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and manage variations and disputes as required.
• Build strong customer relationships and act as main contact for contracts.
• Support bid and pre-construction activity with operational expertise.
