Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd on behalf of a market-leading FMCG manufacturer in Wrexham is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to deliver contracted maintenance services on site. The role requires a time-served engineer with a mechanical bias and a track record in FMCG environments.

You will provide rapid breakdown support, perform planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and drive improvements to equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer or demonstrable equivalent industry experience.
• Multi Skilled Engineer with proven capability in FMCG manufacturing environments.
• Previous experience providing services as a maintenance engineering contractor.
• Able to work with minimal direction, managing workload and priorities independently.
• Strong communication skills when liaising with site stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive breakdown support to minimise production disruption.
• Execute planned and preventative maintenance activities as agreed with site leadership.
• Diagnose electrical faults using drawings and equipment history.
• Identify and rectify recurring faults and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain and optimise automated food production and packaging machinery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and uptime.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure safe plant operation.
• Assist with machinery modifications, upgrades and repairs as required.
• All services delivered in compliance with site health, safety, and food hygiene standards.

6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm / 10pm - 6am

gap technical are representing a market-leading manufacturing business seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias to provide contract maintenance engineering services at their Manufacturing site in Wrexham

Key Service Deliverables

• Provision of responsive breakdown support to minimise production disruption
• Execution of planned and preventative maintenance activities as agreed with site engineering leadership
• Electrical fault diagnosis using drawings, diagnostics, and equipment history
• Identification and rectification of recurring equipment faults, including implementation of permanent corrective actions
