Job summary

Search² is recruiting a Health and Safety Advisor (Contract) to support a major infrastructure programme in Plymouth, Devon. You will provide practical HSE guidance across construction, civil engineering, utilities and infrastructure upgrades, working with project teams and supply chain to raise safety performance.

The role requires NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate and solid experience in complex operational environments, with the ability to influence and drive safety improvements on

Qualifications

• Must have NEBOSH Construction or General Certificates or equivalent.
• Strong practical HSE experience.
• Experience in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing or other complex environments.
• Experience working with contractors and operational teams.
• Practical knowledge of inspections, risk management, incident investigation and assurance.
• Confidence to challenge where required while maintaining relationships.
• Ability to quickly integrate into an established project team; major infrastructure project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical Health and Safety advice to project and operational teams.
• Work with contractors and supply chain to improve SHE performance.
• Conduct site inspections, assurance activities and compliance checks.
• Support project teams with Health and Safety requirements implementation.
• Coach and influence operational teams and contractors.
• Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
• Identify corrective actions and support their close-out.
• Support contractor assessment and ongoing performance.
• Review Health and Safety performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support and deliver relevant SHE training.
• Identify emerging risks and implement practical solutions.
• Assist compliance with SHE management systems and legislation.
