Job summary
Search is recruiting a Health and Safety Advisor to join a major, long-term infrastructure programme in Plymouth. The role combines hands-on safety delivery with coaching of project teams and contractors, to ensure work is carried out safely across construction, civils and utilities.
Ideal candidates will have NEBOSH certificates, 3+ years in construction safety, and strong communication to influence frontline teams.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Around 3+ years of practical Health and Safety experience in construction environments.
- Experience with site inspections, risk management and incident investigations.
- Ability to challenge unsafe practices and influence teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical Health and Safety advice to project and operational teams.
- Work with contractors and supply chain to improve SHE performance.
- Coach and influence teams to implement Health and Safety requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, assurance activities and compliance checks.
- Support investigations of accidents and incidents.
- Identify corrective actions and share lessons across the project.
- Support contractor management and assessments.
- Review safety performance and help develop improvement plans.
- Deliver relevant SHE training.
- Identify emerging risks with project leadership and implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with SHE management systems and legislation.
