Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is partnering with an established tech business to hire an Electronics / Hardware Design Engineer for an initial 3-4 month contract in Chichester. Hybrid work with approx 2 days on site, focusing on hardware redesign to address obsolescence and evolving technical requirements.

You will review, refine and complete schematics and PCB designs, collaborate with the R&D team, and ensure designs are robust, compliant and ready for manufacture.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on electronics/hardware design experience.
• Strong schematic capture and PCB layout abilities.
• Experience with complex multilayer PCBs and mixed-signal circuits.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles and component obsolescence management.
• Ability to work independently within an engineering project.

Responsibilities

• Review and develop existing schematics and PCB layouts.
• Redesign circuits to address obsolete components and enable continued product availability.
• Work on multilayer PCBs with analogue and digital sections.
• Support design changes for specified operating frequencies and EMI considerations.
• Produce engineering documentation and manufacturing deliverables.
• Collaborate with R&D to progress designs to completion.
