Job summary

SoCode Recruitment is partnering with a UK technology business to hire an experienced electronics contractor on an initial 6-month basis, with potential to roll.

You will be embedded within an existing electronics team, supporting requirements capture, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up and system test across complex designs.

Qualifications

• Broad foundation in electronics design with depth in embedded systems, power electronics, FPGA design, or analog/digital interfaces.
• Experience taking electronic designs from inception through manufacture.
• Experience using Altium Designer for schematic capture and guiding PCB layout through to design outputs.
• Knowledge of DFx principles and EMC compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support design, capture and review of complex electronics designs from requirements through to system test.
• Work embedded within client teams to deliver high-quality electronics designs.
• Collaborate on DFx and EMC considerations with manufacturers.

Job description

We're working with an established UK technology business as they look to strengthen their electronics team with an experienced contractor. This is offered initially on a 6-month basis, with potential to move to a rolling contract.

You'll work embedded within an existing electronics team, supporting the design, capture and review of complex electronics designs - from requirements and schematic capture through to design reviews, PCB layout, board bring-up and system test.

What You'll Bring:

• A broad foundation in electronics design, with deeper experience in one or more of: embedded systems and control, power electronics, FPGA design, analogue sensor interfaces, or high-speed digital communications
• Experience taking electronic designs from inception through to manufacture
• Experience using Altium Designer for schematic capture and guiding PCB layout through to design outputs
• Knowledge of DFx principles, with experience collaborating with electronics manufacturers
• Good familiarity with design for EMC compliance
• A proven track record as a contractor, working embedded within client teams to deliver high-quality, complex electronics designs
• Background in a regulated industry (such as medical devices, aerospace, defence or automotive)
