Job summary

Fortress Recruit Limited is supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing business in Poole to recruit a Contract Business Process Owner Manager for a major ERP transformation. The role focuses on unifying end-to-end workflows, mapping current and future-state processes, and aligning across departments during ERP implementation.

You will work with internal process owners, challenge existing processes constructively, and help establish governance and standards within a quality framework.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in BPM, process improvement, or operational excellence.
• Proven ability to map detailed end-to-end business processes.
• Understanding of cross-functional process interactions.
• Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with ERP implementation or business transformation.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.
• Excellent documentation and organisational skills.
• Ability to assemble multi-stakeholder information into an end-to-end view.
• Collaborative approach with internal process owners.
• Experience with Quality/QMS and ERP platforms like Infor is advantageous.

Job description

Fortress Recruit is supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing business in their search for an experienced Contract Business Process Owner Manager to support a major business transformation and new ERP implementation. This is an Outside IR35 contract opportunity focused on bringing together and aligning business processes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Bringing together individual business processes into joined-up end-to-end workflows
• Mapping detailed current and future-state processes across the organisation
• Supporting internal Business Process Owners
• Identifying gaps, duplication, unnecessary handovers and process overlaps
• Ensuring information and outputs flow correctly between departments
• Challenging processes constructively where they may create operational issues
• Recommending practical improvements and more effective ways of working
• Aligning future-state processes with the capabilities and requirements of the new ERP
• Supporting the ERP implementation team to understand system processes and requirements
• Ensuring processes across different functions work together rather than operating in isolation
• Developing and maintaining a joined-up process library
• Supporting the development and review of SOPs, work instructions and process documentation
• Establishing appropriate process governance and standards
• Working with Quality to ensure processes meet the required standards and controls
• Reviewing detailed workflows down to task and system level
• Supporting process alignment through ERP implementation, testing and future-state design

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong experience in business process management, process improvement or operational excellence
• Proven experience mapping detailed end-to-end business processes
• Strong understanding of how processes interact across different business functions
• Experience within engineering, manufacturing or another complex operational environment
• Experience working alongside ERP implementation or business transformation programmes
• The ability to challenge existing processes constructively without imposing unnecessary change
• Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
• Excellent organisational and documentation skills
• The ability to bring together information from multiple stakeholders and create a clear end-to-end view
• A collaborative and supportive approach to working with internal process owners
• Experience within a quality or QMS environment would be highly advantageous, as would experience working with Infor or another major ERP platform. Experience using Visio or other process mapping tools would also be beneficial.

This is an Outside IR35 contract opportunity based in Poole, supporting the wider ERP transformation programme. The role will involve a combination of onsite stakeholder engagement and independent process development, with onsite presence particularly important when ERP implementation is at relevant process stages.
