Job summary

Fortress Recruit Limited is seeking an experienced Contract ERP Implementation Consultant to support a major ERP transformation. The role involves working with internal ERP teams and partners to translate processes into the ERP environment and ensure successful go-live.

You will support testing, data migration, and user readiness across multiple functions, with hands-on involvement through cutover and hypercare. Poole-based with onsite presence as required.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience supporting or delivering ERP implementations.
• Experience taking an ERP implementation through testing and into go-live.
• Strong understanding of business processes within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience with UAT, system testing and defect resolution.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to challenge systems and processes to identify weaknesses.
• Experience with data migration, SQL, Power BI, process mapping, training or change management.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation of the new ERP platform across the business.
• Working alongside the internal ERP team and implementation partner.

• Deliberately challenging and stress-testing processes to identify potential failures before go-live.

• Supporting User Acceptance Testing across multiple business functions.
• Working closely with the Data Processing Analyst where data requires further clarification, amendment or preparation.
• Working alongside the Business Process Owner Manager to ensure system functionality aligns with agreed end-to-end processes.
• Supporting test scenarios, scripts, defect tracking and resolution.
• Supporting training documentation and delivery of user training where required.
• Supporting cutover planning and implementation readiness.
• Troubleshooting implementation and user issues during the hypercare period.
• Supporting the transition into business-as-usual operations.

Fortress Recruit is supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing business in their search for an experienced Contract ERP Implementation Consultant to support the implementation of a new ERP platform across the organisation. This is an Outside IR35 contract opportunity supporting the programme through process alignment, system testing, user readiness, go-live and post-implementation hypercare.

Key responsibilities will include:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven hands‑on experience supporting or delivering ERP implementations
• Experience taking an ERP implementation through testing and into go-live
• Strong understanding of business processes within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Experience with UAT, system testing and defect resolution
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to challenge systems and processes to identify weaknesses
• Experience working with business users, process owners and technical implementation teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple implementation workstreams
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills
• A practical, hands‑on approach to ERP implementation rather than purely project‑management
• Experience with Infor would be highly desirable.
• Strong manufacturing ERP implementation experience with another major ERP platform will also be considered, particularly where you have personally supported an implementation through UAT, cutover, go-live and hypercare.

Experience across engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defence or another complex industrial environment would be particularly advantageous. Experience with data migration, SQL, Power BI, process mapping, training or change management would also be beneficial.

This is an Outside IR35 contract opportunity based in Poole, supporting a major ERP transformation programme. The role will offer flexibility around onsite working, with presence in Poole required at key stages of implementation, during ERP team sessions and when hands‑on engagement with the wider business is required.
