Job summary

Copello is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive Lean and CI initiatives across engineering and production environments within a specialist Defence Technology client in the United Kingdom. You will support high-quality, complex solution delivery in challenging operational settings.

You will lead Lean and CI projects, apply DMAIC, 8D and RCA methodologies, and coach cross-functional teams across operations, engineering and supply chain while ensuring SC Clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineer or equivalent practical experience.
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
• Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
• Experience within electro-mechanical or electronics assembly and test environments.
• Ability to lead change initiatives and influence cross-functional teams.
• Practical knowledge of MRP systems (IFS experience beneficial but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Leading Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve flow, quality, cost and delivery performance.
• Applying structured problem-solving methodologies such as DMAIC, 8D, Root Cause Analysis and Practical Problem Solving.
• Working closely with operations, engineering and supply chain teams to deliver sustainable operational improvements.
• Supporting electronics and electro-mechanical assembly and test processes.
• Driving root cause analysis and resolution of non-conformances.
• Coaching teams in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and embedding a strong continuous improvement culture.
