Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services UK&I is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to support manufacturing operations by managing non-conformances, coordinating the reclaim of parts, and preparing Concessions, Deviation Permits, Change Control and DAR documentation. You will drive root-cause investigations and lean improvements to reduce defects and waste while boosting quality and delivery.

The role requires experience in aerospace quality, AS9100, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and data-driven problem

Qualifications

• Experience managing manufacturing non-conformances, including containment, investigation, technical disposition, corrective action and closure.
• Practical knowledge of part reclaim processes and ability to assess non-conforming components against drawings, specifications and inspection results.
• Experience preparing/ coordinating Concessions, Deviation Permits, Change Control and DAR documentation with clear justification and traceability.
• Strong structured problem-solving using RCA, 8D, 5-Why, Pareto and CAPA.
• Working knowledge of aerospace quality requirements and AS9100, non-conformance control and process compliance.
• Practical experience applying Lean and continuous improvement to reduce defects and waste.
• Ability to analyse non-conformance, quality and operational data using MES, Teamcenter and Excel to identify trends.
• Strong analytical, communication and prioritisation skills to coordinate across stakeholders.
• Previous experience in aerospace/defence or other safety-critical manufacturing environments.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.
• Experience applying statistical analysis and control charts to validate improvements.
• Experience delivering cross-functional improvement projects and sustaining changes.

Responsibilities

• Manage manufacturing non-conformances from initial review through investigation, disposition and closure.
• Assess non-conforming parts and support reclaim decisions using drawings, specs and inspection data.
• Prepare and coordinate Concessions, Deviation Permits, Change Control and DAR documentation with proper approvals.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, design and other stakeholders for timely dispositions.
• Lead structured investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean and production data to reduce defects and variation.
• Maintain up-to-date quality records and traceability of actions and approvals.
• Support quality reviews, audits and compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
• Monitor performance data, identify trends and implement quality/delivery improvements.
