Job summary

Vectis Recruitment is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for a global manufacturer in the Aerospace, Defence & Energy sectors. You will identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, enhance quality, and increase productivity within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Good understanding of CNC machining processes.
  • Experience in fast paced and highly regulated environments (aerospace, defence, energy, etc).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and translate findings into practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive approach with a passion for challenging the status quo.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and optimise manufacturing processes.
  • Analyse production data, identify trends, and develop action plans.
  • Assess and improve machining operations, including machine utilisation, tooling performance and workflow efficiency.
  • Work closely with CNC programmers and Manufacturing Engineers to maximise machine productivity.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects from initial assessment through to implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to measure improvement performance.
  • Support standardisation, problem-solving, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure improvements meet health, safety, quality, and operational standards.

A global leading manufacturer of precision engineered components to the Aerospace, Defence & Energy Sectors has a new vacancy for a Continuous Improvement Engineer. Working as part of the operational excellence team, you will identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, enhance quality, and increase productivity. Candidates are sought with a good understanding of CNC machining processes and will have worked in a fast paced highly regulated manufacturing environment (aerospace, automotive, defence, etc)

The Role
