Job description

Recruit4staff is proud to represent their client, a leading food manufacturer, in their search for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to work at their facility in Shropshire.

For the successful Continuous Improvement Engineer, our client offers:

• Salary from £50,000 to £55,000 per annum DOE
• Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM, with flexibility for shift changes

The Role - Continuous Improvement Engineer:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, CMMS systems, and maintenance best practices (SPIDEX/Mainsaver)
• Develop and execute cost-effective maintenance programs to meet safety, quality, and performance standards
• Implement key engineering processes aligned with the client’s Engineering Road Map
• Drive talent development within the department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Lead proactive maintenance, production excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyze failures and lost production to identify and implement solutions for improved systems and processes
• Promote a ‘top loss’ analysis culture and facilitate criticality matrix reviews
• Drive the implementation of the Inventory Management Plan and develop SOPs
• Utilize root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques (RCA, 5Y, DMAIC) to address issues

Candidate Requirements:

• Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship or ONC/HNC or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines (Essential)
• Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and technical staff to troubleshoot and resolve root cause issues (Desirable)
• Experience planning engineering activities, establishing priorities, scheduling, and communicating effectively
• Experience in a maintenance environment (Essential)
• Strong decision-making skills
• Willingness to work across shifts as needed
