Job Summary:

To undertake prescribed maintenance tasks as directed by the Engineering Supervisor/Infrastructure Services Manager. The post holder will work with a small team on a rotating day and night shift rota, carrying out planned maintenance and varied unscheduled work, primarily on external estate areas.

Salary: £52,171 per annum + 3% shift allowance.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and diagnose faults; carry out repairs, adjustments, and maintenance works.
  2. Perform routine servicing, repair, or adjustment of plant or machinery per the maintenance schedule.
  3. Adopt a flexible approach to other skills or trades for cost-effective completion of tasks.
  4. Undertake other skilled tasks as demonstrated competence allows.
  5. Monitor plant and record data using provided documentation.
  6. Ensure plant and equipment efficiency by following set requirements and instructions.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in working areas.
  8. Comply with the company's health & safety policies and report hazards.
  9. Complete daily time/task sheets as per procedures.
  10. Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude; tidy and presentable.
  • Team player with effective communication skills; customer-focused and diplomatic.
  • Ability to make beneficial decisions for the business.
  • Ability to work at heights outdoors, if necessary.
  • Understanding of customer service in the context of Canary Wharf.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Full-time apprenticeship in electrical or Building Services HVAC with City & Guilds 236 parts 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 3; mechanical apprenticeship with relevant electrical experience acceptable.
  • Experience in a modern building services maintenance environment; basic understanding of HVAC and building services.
  • Desirable: Completion of Electrical Installation (BS7671:2008) 17th edition course.
