Job Summary

We are seeking a Millwright to focus on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing stationary industrial machinery, mechanical systems and mechanical equipment. The incumbent will report to the Maintenance Supervisor while working a 12-hour continental day shift schedule (7 shifts bi-weekly, 7:30am - 7:30pm).

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct preventative maintenance on all plant equipment as per schedule, completing all relative paperwork.
2. Address all mechanical issues that may arise on the production floor.
3. Work closely with all departments to deliver positive results.
4. Assembly of machinery & equipment prior to installation using hand & power tools and welding equipment.
5. Competently & safely use all tools for the efficient overhaul, maintenance or set up of company assets.
6. Operate lifting devices, scissor lifts & genie boom if required.

Minimum Requirements

1. Certification, in good standing, of an Ontario Provincial Trade qualification (433A) or Interprovincial qualification (Red Seal) as a Millwright.
2. 3+ years of demonstrated ability as a Millwright or Industrial Mechanic.
3. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
4. Experience in plastics, injection molding or extrusion would be a definite asset.
5. Strong hydraulic, pneumatic and robotic systems experience.
6. Effective written and verbal communication ability.
7. Strong digital literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
8. Must provide own basic hand tools.
9. Knowledge of health and safety practices.
10. Experience working in a unionized environment is not a requirement but may be an asset.

Working Conditions

Incumbent spends almost 100% of their time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of considerable physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (50-100 lbs.), standing and walking cover the majority of the work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades. Moderate amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow brings considerable stresses to this position.
