G2legal is recruiting a Contentious Probate and Commercial Litigation Solicitor in Hertfordshire. The role targets a 4–8 PQE solicitor to manage a varied caseload within a respected regional disputes team.

You’ll handle contentious probate and commercial disputes, with opportunities for high‑quality work, progression, and client development in a supportive, ambitious environment.

Qualifications

• A qualified Solicitor with 4–8 years' PQE in Commercial Litigation, Contentious Probate or a mixed disputes practice.
• Confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communicator with strong client relationship skills.
• Commercially minded with an interest in networking and business development.
• Organised with strong billing, time management and file management skills.
• Applications from candidates with slightly less or more experience will also be considered where relevant experience can be demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload across contentious probate and commercial litigation matters.
• Advise on Contentious Probate and Trust disputes, Will validity challenges, and Inheritance Act claims.
• Handle Executor and trustee disputes, Trust of Land disputes and Contentious Court of Protection matters.
• Carry out negotiations, mediation and court proceedings as required.
• Support business development and client relationship growth within the disputes team.
• Collaborate with Partners and other senior lawyers on higher‑level matters.

Experienced Litigator looking for a change?

A respected regional law firm is looking to appoint a Contentious Probate & Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join its highly regarded Dispute Resolution team. Working alongside experienced Partners, you'll handle a varied and complex caseload while playing a key role in the continued growth of the department.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Solicitor who enjoys a broad litigation practice and is looking for greater responsibility, exposure to high-quality work and a clear route for career progression.

You’ll manage your own caseload while collaborating with senior lawyers on a wide range of contentious matters, including:

• Contentious Probate and Trust disputes
• Will validity challenges
• Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims
• Executor and trustee disputes
• Trust of Land (TOLATA) claims
• Contentious Court of Protection matters
• Commercial contract disputes
• Shareholder and partnership disputes
• Professional negligence claims
• Real estate litigation
• Contentious insolvency
• Intellectual property disputes

You’ll have the opportunity to advise clients from initial instruction through to resolution, including negotiation, mediation and court proceedings where required.

About You

You’ll be:
