Job summary

Elsevier’s SSRN is seeking a Content Editor to support medical preprints and uphold research integrity. You will manage submission queues, collaborate with editorial and publishing teams, and help ensure compliance with funder and policy requirements across life sciences.

You will engage with partners such as The Lancet's preprint initiatives, deliver reporting on growth, and contribute to projects promoting excellence in preprinting.

Qualifications

• Background in life sciences or related discipline; editorial or publishing experience is valued.
• Experience with medical preprints or scholarly publishing and reporting standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Content Editors to meet medical queue turnaround times.
• Prevent posting of harmful medical preprints; verify ethics, funding and COIs.
• Collaborate with journal partners (e.g., Preprints with The Lancet) on policies and reporting.
• Report on funder policies and governance (Gates Foundation and others).
• Liaise with Research Integrity Manager on risky submissions.
• Coordinate with Production and Product teams on policy changes for content quality.
• Deliver reporting on growth in medical preprints.
• Contribute to projects promoting excellence in preprinting.
