The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a focus on Trauma and Hip Surgery, including hip arthroplasty, arthroscopy and periprosthetic fracture care, based at Reading. The role supports the existing Trauma and Orthopaedic services and contributes to service development and teaching.

The successful candidate will join a busy team, share a large clinical load, and independently manage a caseload with hip/knee arthroplasty expertise,

Qualifications

• Fellowship trained in Hip arthroscopy
• Fully trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics
• Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of the United Kingdom or equivalent
• Full GMC registration or eligible within 6 months of CCST

Responsabilités

• Share the large clinical load referred from various sources and participate in trauma call commitments with the team.
• Independently manage and operate on own caseload with expertise in hip/knee arthroplasty and arthroscopy.
• Engage in training and education for junior staff, trainees and students.
• Attend morning trauma meetings, clinical governance meetings and weekly teaching sessions.
• Contribute to clinical governance, teaching and management activities and maintain policy compliance.
