Our Planning team is growing, and we are looking for a Town Planner to support our team with a range of planning duties, focusing on policy, strategy, infrastructure consents, and regeneration planning.

As part of our Environmental team, you'll help improve quality of life. Your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise, especially in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.

We work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. We are addressing climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity, and managing large-scale events such as floods and wildfires.

Our team supports clients with complex projects including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, energy and infrastructure developments, residential and commercial schemes, socio-economic, health, and community planning, as well as research into the planning process. Our clients include Highways England, Transport for London, HS2, National Grid, Homes England, the Environment Agency, Welsh Government, Canals & Rivers Trust, and various private developers, social landlords, and local authorities.

At Arcadis, variety comes as standard. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across our business. As a Town Planner, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing planning advice to clients and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on masterplans, planning applications, regeneration strategies, policies, and impact assessments.
  2. Partnering with clients to understand their challenges and applying your expertise to deliver optimal solutions.
  3. Supporting client relationships and work-winning efforts to develop your potential.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in town planning, including policy, strategy, planning applications, consents, and regeneration planning.
  • Knowledge of socio-economic and health impact assessments for development and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on planning applications, especially infrastructure consents.
  • Experience supporting masterplans and impact assessments within matrix and dispersed teams.
  • A relevant degree and a Master's in an accredited planning course, working towards chartership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).
  • Understanding stakeholder engagement methods, including engaging with hard-to-reach groups and virtual public engagement.

We are expanding our team due to increased project demand. We offer variety across different sectors, including automotive, aviation, and manufacturing.

This role can be based in Birmingham, Leeds, London, or Manchester, with opportunities for remote work.
