Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts seeks a consultant plastic surgeon to lead complex oncologic and reconstructive procedures across our Trust sites in Nottingham. You will participate in a 1:13 on-call rota and contribute to undergraduate and post graduate teaching, audits and service improvement.

The role requires full GMC registration, FRCS (Plast) or equivalent, and eligibility for Specialist Register. Travel between City Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre is expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Be on, or eligible for, the Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery.
• CCT or Portfolio Pathway registration expected within six months of interview.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level plastic surgery services at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, specialising in soft tissue sarcoma, breast microsurgery and oncological reconstruction.
• Deliver comprehensive, consultant-led plastic surgery care across the Trust’s hospital sites.
• Participate in the 1:13 on-call rota.
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching and training.
• Support service development, clinical audit and quality improvement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver specialist surgical care.
