Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Consultant in plastic surgery with a focus on microsurgical reconstruction and oncoplastic breast reconstruction. You will join a multidisciplinary team, contribute to complex surgeries, and participate in on-call rotas, teaching, and research, within a leading NHS trust in the North East of England.

The role requires GMC registration, a microsurgical fellowship, and demonstrated experience in limb reconstruction.

Qualifications

• Must hold Primary Medical Qualification and be registered with GMC.
• Must be on GMC Specialist Register within 6 months of AAC date.
• Must have microsurgical fellowship and demonstrate logbook evidence of major lower limb reconstruction.

Responsibilities

• Administrative: Maintain a clinical activity log.
• Research: Support an academic portfolio and research activity within the department.
• Teaching: Engage in regional teaching programmes and mentor trainees and undergraduates.
