Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a consultant anaesthetist for daytime anaesthetic work across multiple areas and hospital sites. You will develop a special interest alongside colleagues, participate in teaching and audit, and help deliver services to the North Cumbria population with a flexible job plan.

The post expects GMC registration and involvement in training, with a strong emphasis on maintaining broad anaesthetic skills and contributing to department

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists or equivalent, plus completed Higher Specialist Training in Anaesthetics or equivalent competency.
• Valid GMC registration, and on the GMC Specialist Register for permanent posts
• Day and/or on-call ICU and maternity experience in the last 2 years, at ST6-7 or consultant level
• High level of clinical competence across a wide variety of anaesthesia fields
• Excellent communication with patients, colleagues, managers and other staff
• Knowledge of audit process and clinical governance
• Ability to organise workload efficiently
• A special interest complementing existing post-holders
• Commitment to, and experience of, teaching
• Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems
