Job summary

Practice Plus Group Hospital Shepton Mallet is seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist for a 22-hour-per-week employed contract. You will deliver general and regional anaesthesia across elective pathways, support Orthopaedics, General Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology, and contribute to governance and education.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, participate in the consultant on-call rota, maintain comprehensive records, and contribute to service development and audit initiatives, with ongoing CPD

Qualifications

• FRCA or equivalent qualification required or expected.
• ALS certification and active registration with GMC.
• Specialist registration in Anaesthesia is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver general and regional anaesthesia across elective surgical services.
• Support Orthopaedics, General Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology procedures.
• Participate in pre-assessment clinics and patient optimisation.
• Take part in the consultant on-call rota.
• Provide specialist advice to colleagues and residents.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in governance.
