Job summary

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist to join the Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals Group. The post supports delivery of high-quality anaesthetic, peri-operative and pre-operative services across multiple sites, with cross-site flexible working and a 7-day model.

The role focuses on safe patient care, clinical leadership, teaching and research, with opportunities for subspecialty interests and involvement in service improvement.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration required.
• FRCA or equivalent qualification.
• Entry on the specialist register (or within 6 months of CCT).
• Broad UK anaesthetic experience suitable for a district general hospital.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent anaesthetic care for elective, emergency and obstetric patients.
• Review and pre-assess operating lists to improve theatre utilisation and reduce cancellations.
• Provide expert consultation and advice to the MDT.
• Participate in the 7-day on-call rota at the primary site.
• Support pre-operative assessment pathways and patient selection.
• Provide clinical leadership and contribute to governance, guidelines and research.
• Teach and supervise trainees and support CESR pathways.
