Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Anaesthetist with an interest in general anaesthesia to join a dynamic team across two hospital sites. The role involves regular general anaesthesia sessions, with on-calls based at The Princess Royal Hospital and potential future changes as we restructure services for the Hospital Transformation Programme.

Opportunities include involvement in pre-operative assessment clinics, paediatric anaesthesia and day case

Qualifications

• MBBS, MbCHB or equivalent medical qualification.
• ALS or equivalent certification.
• APLS certification.
• Level 3 Safeguarding Children training (within the last 3 years).
• Higher degree (e.g. MD or PhD) or evidence of higher education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver elective theatre sessions on both hospital sites.
• Participate in pre-operative assessment clinics and paediatric anaesthesia.
• Engage in day case anaesthesia in the new elective hub.
• Be involved in on-call duties at The Princess Royal Hospital.

Skills

Excellent written and spoken English

High level of clinical judgement

Education

MBBS / MbCHB or equivalent medical qualification

ALS or equivalent certification

APLS certification
