East Cheshire NHS Trust in Macclesfield is seeking a Consultant Acute Physician to join a growing team of five. The role covers MAU, SDEC and AMRU with leadership of junior doctors and responsibility for admissions and patient flow.

The position offers permanent, full-time hours with 10 PAs per week, and a flexible rostering arrangement across GVW, SDEC and AMRU. The salary ranges from £113,565 to £150,569 per year.

Qualifications

• Essential: MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
• Essential: Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Essential: CCT or within six months of award.
• Essential: Specialist Register or CESR with GMC confirmation.
• Desirable: MD/PhD.
• Essential: UK CCST or equivalent in General Internal Medicine.
• Essential: Broad range of recent experience in general internal medicine.
• Essential: Training and experience to manage an acute medical 'take'.
• Desirable: Experience at senior grade in emergency/critical care.

Responsabilités

• Lead and mentor junior medical staff in assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
• Guide MRCP PACES teaching and postgraduate training for foundation doctors.
• Develop services and ensure high-quality clinical governance and audits.
• Co-ordinate and supervise acute medicine service delivery per GIRFT and Royal College frameworks.
• Provide flexible and high-quality care with collaboration with primary care.
• Support development of clinical services in AMU, MAU, SDEC and AMRU.

Formation

MRCP (UK) or equivalent

GMC registration with licence to practise

Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)

Specialist Register or CESR with GMC confirmation

MD/PhD

UK CCST equivalent training

Broad experience in general internal medicine

Managing acute medical take experience

Supervising and teaching residents
