Job summary

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust invites applications for a Consultant in Acute Medicine (AMU/SDEC) with a 10 PA full-time timetable. The role is primarily based at Wakefield (Pinderfields) with duties across Trust sites and on-call responsibilities, delivering high-quality medical care.

The post requires GMC registration, General Medicine eligibility, and MRCP or equivalent, with potential inclusion on the Specialist Register. NHS pension and strong professional support are offered.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with licence to practise.
• Registered for General Medicine.
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register via AIM (or within 6 months of obtaining CCT) or CESR in AIM.
• MRCP or equivalent.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Recent experience working at registrar or consultant level.
• Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call and consultant-present care across sites with focus on AMU and SDEC at Pinderfields Hospital.
• Daytime duties as part of weekly timetable with multiple consultants.
• Evening and weekend on-call duties as scheduled.
• Support for medical subspecialties with dedicated on-call teams.
• Attend teaching responsibilities and departmental leadership roles as required.

Education

MBBS/Medical degree from recognised medical school
