Job summary

Telford College is seeking a Construction Technician to deliver instruction across all course levels, manage stock of tools and equipment, and uphold health and safety standards within the construction centre. You will liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to support effective course delivery and learner progression.

The role involves assisting with practical sessions, managing resources, and helping create a supportive learning environment for students and apprentices.

Qualifications

• Relevant vocational sector experience.
• Stock control experience is required.
• High-quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Good IT skills.
• Willingness to undertake professional development.
• Previous experience in an educational environment is preferred.
• Able to meet targets and deadlines; respond quickly to service needs.
• Understanding of diversity and equality and commitment to safeguarding.
• Health and safety knowledge relevant to the post.

Responsibilities

• Support practical activity and instruction for groups of level 1‑3 students and apprentices.
• Assist with setup and delivery of practical sessions inside and outside construction areas.
• Book in/out resources and equipment for practical activities.
• Organise stock control and ordering as required.
• Maintain and secure workshop areas and all tools/equipment.
• Ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
• Support college events such as enrolment, open days, and information evenings.
