Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Technician in Building Services to join our Construction department at The Bedford College Group, based at Tresham College – Corby and Wellingborough campuses.

You will be responsible for workshop management, stock and budgets, practical delivery to learners, health and safety compliance, and safeguarding in a supportive learning environment across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Holds a relevant construction or building services trade diploma with practical industry experience.
• Able to maintain stock inventories, order materials and repair tools; maintain records.
• Strong knowledge of COSHH, safety practices; willing to obtain First Aid and forklift qualifications.
• Strong learner support, communication and teamwork; fosters inclusive environment.
• Self-motivated with flexibility to work across College locations.

Responsibilities

• Workshop management and maintaining professional, safe workshop environments.
• Manage stock, budgets and resources; monitor expenditure.
• Support practical delivery and learners; prepare activities and teaching aids.
• Ensure health, safety and COSHH compliance; address student conduct.
• Build positive relationships; promote safeguarding and ongoing professional development.
