Job summary

Hugh Baird College is seeking a Construction Technician to join the Professional Construction & Trades team at the Main Campus in Liverpool. You will provide technical support to staff and students, supervise equipment use, and maintain tools and resources to support hands-on learning.

With at least a Level 2 vocational qualification and good health and safety knowledge, you will help create a safe, productive workshop environment and contribute to shaping the practical skills of our learners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety in workshop settings.
• Experience with construction equipment in an educational or training environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth operation of construction workshops.
• Support lecturers and students with equipment, demonstrations, and practical tasks.
• Maintain and manage tools, materials, and resources.
• Promote health and safety and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
• Participate in open evenings, taster days, and other promotional events.
