Oldham College is seeking a committed Workshop Technician to support the effective delivery of construction workshop sessions, including brickwork, carpentry and joinery. You will prepare resources, maintain safety standards and ensure a well-organised learning environment.

You will inspect and maintain workshop equipment, manage stores, record materials and assist tutors and learners. A Level 2 vocational qualification and GCSEs are required, with strong practical skills and a clear commitment

Formación

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above, plus Level 2 vocational qualification.
• Excellent practical skills with industry-standard tools, equipment and materials.
• Strong commitment to health and safety and maintaining safe working environments.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with colleagues, learners and external stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical support to tutors and learners during practical construction workshop sessions, including brickwork, carpentry and joinery, and construction skills.
• Prepare and organise workshop resources, materials and equipment to support high-quality teaching, learning and practical assessments.
• Maintain safe, clean and organised workshop environments, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation and College procedures.
• Inspect, maintain and support the repair and development of workshop equipment, machinery, tools and practical training areas.
• Manage workshop stores and resources, monitor stock levels, order materials and maintain accurate electronic risk assessments using Smartlog.
• Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments.
