Job summary

Loughborough College Group is seeking a Construction Workshop Supervisor to join Stephenson College. This hands-on role supports high-quality teaching and learning by ensuring safe use of tools and materials, and by maintaining a clean, well‑run workshop.

You will implement risk assessments and COSHH reviews while supporting apprentices during end point assessments. Applicants should hold Level 2 or equivalent in a construction subject, have recent industry experience, and display excellent time

• Must hold Level 2 or equivalent in a construction subject.
• Recent experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of the sector and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the Health and Safety of students in the use of equipment, tools and resources.
• Review, monitor and complete annual risk assessments including COSHH.
• Organise safe storage of materials and maintain workshop cleanliness.
• Ensure suitable materials are available for practical lessons and support apprentices at end point assessments.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Workshop Supervisor to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Stephenson College.

Join our team in a hands‑on workshop role where you’ll support the delivery of high‑quality teaching and learning.

Responsibilities of this role include;

• Ensure the Health and Safety of students in the use of equipment, tools and resources required to develop their skills and knowledge.
• Review, monitor and complete annual risk assessments associated with the workshop environment, including COSHH.
• Organise safe systems for storage of material and equipment and maintain the cleanliness of the workshop.
• Ensure suitable and sufficient materials are available for practical lessons delivered in the workshop and support the department when apprentices are undertaking their end point assessments.

What we are looking for;

• Possess a Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant construction subject area (e.g. carpentry, bricklaying, multi-trade, plumbing, electrical, Painting and Decorating)
• Have recent experience in the relevant industry
• Have knowledge of the sector
• Have excellent time management skills and be able to work to deadlines
