Job summary

Nova Training in Birmingham is seeking a Trainee Construction Tutor to support learners toward their Level 1 qualification. You will deliver new standards and ESFA frameworks, plan lessons, and help learners gain essential vocational skills for the workplace.

The role requires willingness to progress teaching qualifications, Level 2 literacy/numeracy, and construction experience, with a valid UK driving licence and ability to travel as needed. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards teaching qualification.
• Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills required.
• Experience in Building and Carpentry with a Level 2 qualification.
• Relevant vocational/teaching experience in construction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate learners.
• Knowledge of software/tools used in the construction sector.
• Current full UK Driving Licence with vehicle access.
• Two years of delivering training.

Responsibilities

• Plan individual learning to meet learner needs with prepared lesson plans and resources.
• Create conditions in training centres to develop learners' abilities, skills and confidence.
• Monitor and assess learners regularly to meet funding and awarding body requirements.
• Involve learners in decision-making through individual and group forums.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to vocational learning development.
• Develop training and embed support to maximise learner progression.
• Maintain records of attendance and punctuality and take action on issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by line manager.
