Job summary

Think Recruitment is recruiting for a Cardiff-based construction firm to appoint an experienced Estimator. You will prepare accurate and competitive estimates, review drawings and contract documents, and manage tenders from inception to submission.

You will analyse subcontractor and supplier quotes, identify risks and cost-saving opportunities, and liaise with clients and internal teams to secure successful bids.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction/refurbishment sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction costs, materials and subcontractor pricing.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Confident communicating with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Experience with estimating/tendering software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate and competitive estimates, tenders and quotations.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and contract documentation.
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identifying project risks, opportunities and potential cost savings.
• Working closely with the commercial and operational teams to ensure successful tender submissions.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
