Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is recruiting a Construction Technician for a Further Education college in Cambridgeshire. The role involves supporting practical teaching, setting up and maintaining workshop tools, and helping to run classes safely and efficiently.

We are looking for someone with qualifications in a construction trade, practical skills with construction tools, and the ability to work independently to tight deadlines. Training will be provided; FE experience is desirable.

• Hold relevant qualifications in a recognized construction trade.
• Demonstrable practical skills and extensive knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and materials.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Prior experience within a further education or training environment is desirable, but full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and dismantle tools, equipment, and materials for practical teaching sessions.
• Maintain, service, and repair workshop machinery and equipment to a high standard.
• Assist lecturing staff during practical student workshops and assessments.
• Oversee and maintain Health & Safety standards within training areas.
• Manage workshop inventory and ensure resources are ready when needed.

The Role

We are seeking a self-motivated and practical Construction Technician to support operations within our busy construction workshops. Working alongside the teaching team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring practical classes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
