Job summary

Qualiteach Education Group is seeking an experienced Construction Teacher for a SEMH school in Hackney to deliver practical construction lessons and support pupil progress. The role focuses on developing vocational skills and safe practice across carpentry, decorating, and basic building techniques.

You will adapt lessons for varying abilities, demonstrate safe tool use, and mentor pupils toward independence and future employment.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching construction or vocational skills.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN or SEMH desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver practical construction lessons, helping pupils develop skills in carpentry, painting and decorating, and basic building techniques.
• Adapt lessons to suit different abilities, demonstrate safe use of tools and equipment, and support coursework and practical assessments.
• Build positive relationships, manage challenging behaviour and help pupils develop confidence, independence and employability skills.
