Job summary

SSE plc seeks a Construction Site Supervisor for a 320MW Battery Energy Storage System project at Monk Fryston, North Yorkshire. The role acts as the on-site representative for the Project Manager, ensuring safe, high-quality delivery on a major energy infrastructure project.

You will coordinate contractors, oversee site activities, monitor progress and maintain project records while driving compliance with NEC contracts and industry safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising construction sites on energy or major infra projects.
• Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts incl. target cost and fixed-price.
• Strong understanding of SHEW legislation and industry standards (CDM, LOLER, PUWER, HSG45).
• SSSTS or equivalent required; other qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Champion a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, env and quality.
• Coordinate and oversee on-site contractors delivering high-quality works.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and support timely resolutions.
• Lead site meetings and maintain clear project reporting.
• Inspect materials and workmanship to meet standards and specs.
